DEFI is a Malagasy non-profit organisation dedicated to the protection, reforestation and the sustainable exploitation of the Tapia forest in the Itasy region in the central highlands of Madagascar.
DEFI's role is to promote the environmental, cultural social economic development and help address the public health needs in the region.
DEFI organises training in these issues for the local community which includes the promotion of the fight against bush fires and poverty.
DEFI has been working for over 20 years planting Tapia trees, training local communities, providing employment and bringing environmental and sustainable development education to hundreds of people. The Dodwell Trust continues to support DEFI in achieving its aims, and any help you can give will go a long way.
